Re:Issuance of Electronic Policies

यह,आईआरडीएआई (ई-बीमापॉलिसियोंका निर्गम) विनियम,2016 के विनियम 4 केप्रावधानोंके संदर्भ मेंहै। कोविड-19वैश्विकमहामारी कीउभरती स्थितिके मद्देनजरऔरनिम्नलिखित (i) तथा (ii) ध्यानको में रखते हुए,

Thishas reference to the provisions of Regulation 4 of IRDAI (Issuance ofe-Insurance policies) Regulations, 2016. In the wake of emerging situation of Covid19 GlobalPandemic and taking into account (i) and (ii) below,

i)पॉलिसी दस्तावेजों की छपायी और उनके प्रेषण में कठिनाईयाँ दर्शाते हुए, जीवन बीमाकर्ताओं से प्राप्त हुए प्रतिपुष्टि:

i)the feedback received from the Life Insurers expressing difficulties inprinting and dispatch of policy documents

ii)पॉलिसीधारकोंऔर अन्यहिताधिकारियोंके हित में व्यापारकरने के लिएडिजिटलमाध्यमों कोअपनाने कीवांछनीयता,

ii)the desirability of adopting digital means of doing business in the interestsof policyholders and other stakeholders

सक्षमप्राधिकारीद्वारा,उल्लिखितविनियमों केविनियम 4(iii) केप्रावधान केअन्तर्गत, पॉलिसीदस्तावेज औरप्रस्तावकर्ताकी प्रतिकागजी रूप मेंजारी करने कीशर्त से छूटकी अनुमति दीजाती है। छूट कीशर्तें होंगी,

exemptionis allowed by Competent Authority under Proviso to Regulation 4(iii) of theReferred Regulations, from the requirement to issue policy document, copy ofproposal form in physical form. The exemption is subject to

क) बीमाकर्ता, पॉलिसीधारक द्वारा पीआईवीसी या अन्य माध्यम से इलेक्ट्रॉनिक पॉलिसी दस्तावेज की प्रति की प्राप्ति की पुष्टि करे और प्रमाण सुरक्षित रखे, ताकि उस तिथि से फ्रीलुक अवधि की गणना की जा सके।

a)Life Insurer confirming the date of receipt of electronic policy document bythe policyholder through PIVC or other means and preserving the proof so thatFree Look period may be calculated from that date.

ख) ऐसेसभीइलेक्ट्रॉनिकपॉलिसीदस्तावेजोंके लिए तीस (30)दिनोंके फ्रीलुकअवधि कीअनुमति दी जासके।

b)Thirty (30) days Free Look period may be allowed for all such electronic policydocuments.

ग) पॉलिसीधारकद्वारा पॉलिसी रद्दकरने केस्पष्ट इरादेसे मेल द्वाराइलेक्ट्रॉनिकपॉलिसीदस्तावेजलौटाना,फ्रीलुकरद्दीकरण केलिए वैध होगा।

c)Return of electronic policy document by mail by policyholder with clearintention of cancellation of policy shall be valid for Free Look Cancellation.

घ) इलेक्ट्रॉनिकपॉलिसीबाण्डप्राप्त करनेके लिए पॉलिसीधारककीव्यक्त-सहमतिअपेक्षित है।यदि पॉलिसीधारकहार्ड कॉपी केलिए आग्रहकरता है तो वहबिना किसीप्रभार केजारी की जानीचाहिए।

d)Express consent of the policyholder to receive electronic policy bond isrequired. If a policyholder insists on hard copy, the same has to be issuedwithout any charges.

ङ) पॉलिसीदस्तावेज,प्रस्तावकर्ताद्वाराप्रस्तुत ई-मेलआईडी को भेजेजाएँगे।

e)Policy document shall be sent to the email id submitted by the proposer.

यह छूटवित्तीय वर्ष 2020-21के दौरान जारीसभीपालिसियों केलिए वैध होगी।

Theexemption shall be valid for all policies issued during FY 2020-21.
