Sub: Group Credit LifeSchemes–Modifications to align the coverage with the moratorium announced byReserve Bank of India.

यह जीवनबीमाकर्ताओँद्वारा जारीकी गई सामूहिकऋण जीवनमास्टरपालिसियोंमें कुछ आशोधनकरने हेतुउन्हेंअनुमति देनेके लिए जीवनबीमाकर्ताओंसे प्राप्तअभ्यावेदनोंके संदर्भ मेंहै, जिससेकोविड-19महामारी केकारण भारतीय रिज़र्वबैंक (आरबीआई)द्वारा घोषितअधिस्थगन कीसुविधा काउपयोगकरनेवालेसदस्यों के संबंधमें संशोधितऋण चुकौतीकार्यक्रम केसाथ ऐसीयोजनाओँ केअंतर्गतउपलब्धबीमारक्षा (कवर)का सुयोजनकिया जा सके। इस विषय कीजाँच की गईतथानिम्नलिखितअनुदेश दियेजाते हैं :

This has reference to representationsreceived from Life Insurers to permit them to make certain modifications in theGroup Credit Life Master Policies issued by them so as to align the coveravailable under such schemes with the revised loan repayment schedule inrespect of members who have availed the facility of moratorium announced by RBIin the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The matter has been examined and thefollowing instructions are issued:

1) सामूहिकऋण जीवन बीमायोजनाएँप्रस्तावित करनेवाले जीवनबीमाकर्ताओंको, जिनयोजनाओँ के अंतर्गतसदस्यों नेईएमआई केभुगतान परअधिस्थगन कालाभ उठाया हो,ऐसे सदस्योंके संबंध में अपेक्षितरूप मेंअतिरिक्तप्रीमियम कीवसूली के आधारपर ऐसीयोजनाओँ केअंतर्गत अवधिऔर बीमित राशिका उपयुक्तरूप में आशोधनकरने के लिएअनुमति दीजाती है, ताकिउन्हें संशोधितऋण चुकौतीकार्यक्रम केअनुसारबीमारक्षा(कवर) निरंतरमिल सके।

LifeInsurers offering group credit life insurance schemes, where under, the membershave availed moratorium on payment of EMIs are allowed to suitably modify theterm and sum assured under such schemes, against collection of additionalpremium as may be required, in respect of such members, so that they maycontinue to be covered as per the revised loan repayment schedule.

2) इसप्रकार केआशोधन करने केलिए अनुमतिनिम्नलिखितशर्तों केअधीन होगीः

The permission to makesuch modifications shall be subject to the following conditions:

क)              उक्तव्यवस्था कीअनुमतिकेवलउन्हीं मामलोंमें है जहाँसदस्यों नेभारतीयरिज़र्व बैंक(आरबीआई) कीघोषणाओं केअनुसारअधिस्थगन के लिएविकल्प दियाहै।

a. The provision isallowed only in cases where the members have opted for moratorium in terms ofRBI’s announcements.

ख)              उक्तआशोधन यहसुनिश्चितकरने के लिएअपेक्षितसीमा तकपरिमित होगाकि योजना केअंतर्गत कवरेजसंशोधित ऋणचुकौतीकार्यक्रम केउपयुक्त हो।

b. The modification shallbe limited to the extent required to ensure that the coverage under the scheme matchesthe revised loan repayment schedule.

ग)               बढ़ाईगई अवधि केलिएबीमारक्षा(कवर) का कीमत-निर्धारणमूल कवर कीतरह उन्हींशर्तों पर कियाजाएगा।

c. The cover for theextended period shall be priced on the same terms as the original cover.

घ)               सदस्यनामांकन फार्म,मास्टरपालिसीधारकके द्वारादावा भुगतानकेप्रसंस्करणके लिएप्राधिकृतकिया जाना (उनमामलों मेंजहाँ मास्टरपालिसीधारकविनियमितइकाइयों मेंसे एक है) तथाबीमा प्रमाणपत्रजिस प्रकार सेमूल रूप मेंप्रस्तुत / जारीकिये गये हैं,जैसी स्थितिहो, यथाआशोधितयोजना के लिएलगातारविधिमान्यहोंगे।

d. The member enrolmentform, the authorization for processing claim payment through the MasterPolicy Holder (in cases where the Master Policyholder is one of the regulated entities)and the Certificate of Insurance as originally submitted / issued, as the case may be,shall continue to remain valid for the scheme as modified.

ङ)                मुद्रांकशुल्क (स्टांपड्यूटी) मेंअंतर यथाप्रयोज्यरूप मेंविप्रेषितकिया जाएगा तथाएक उपयुक्तपृष्ठांकनमास्टरपालिसी दस्तावेजपर कियाजाएगा।

e. The difference in stampduty shall be remitted as applicable and a suitable endorsement shall bemade on the Master Policy Document.

3) इनअनुदेशों काअनुपालननिरीक्षणविभाग द्वारासत्यापन केअधीन रखा जाए।

The compliance to theseinstructions may be subjected to verification by the Inspection Department.
