A seminar on “Health Insurance & Grievance Redressal Mechanism” was organised by M/s Consumer Protection Association on January 25, 2012 at Agartala.

The seminar was graced by the Hon’ble Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Government of Tripura, Shri Manik Dey, gave interesting facts about the schemes in the State, in particular the outreach of the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana scheme. Mr Amrit Lal Saha, President, Consumers’ Protection Association, gave welcome address and introductory speech. Ms Yegnapriya Bharath, Joint Director, IRDA, gave the keynote address and also made presentation about “Policyholder Protection and Grievance Redressal”, with emphasis on the Integrated Grievance Management System (IGMS). Mr T. V. Rao, Deputy Director, IRDA, gave a presentation on “Life Insurance and issues of concern to the Life Insurance Policyholders”.

Mr Partha Sarathi Sen, Sr Territory Manager, Reliance Life Insurance Co. Ltd. and Mr Joydip Ghosh, AO, National Insurance Company Ltd. addressed the issues relating to “Health Insurance Policy” and “Role of TPA in Health Insurance and Protection of Health Insurance Policyholders“ respectively.

M/s Consumer Protection Association had taken keen interest in organising the seminar and getting people from various walks of life attend it. The seminar was attended by representatives of various Consumer Bodies, NGOs including run exclusively by women, lawyers, students of law etc.
