The seminar was inaugurated by lightening lamps jointly by Mr. Kusheswar Das, Dy Director, District Social Security Fund, Mr. Seetanshu Sekhar, DDM, NABARD, Mr. Gautam Kumar, Dy Director, IRDA and Mr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Secretary, Harijan Adivasi Mahila Kalyan Samiti (HAK). Nearly 130 participants comprising of members of Kisan Clubs, PRI Members (Panchayati Raj), and women members of SHGs along with media persons and representatives of insurance companies attended the seminar.

In his address, Mr. Kusheswar Das has informed about various Government social security schemes including insurance. It was followed by a session on financial literacy by Mr. Seetanshu Sekhar who stressed on the need to be aware about micro insurance schemes. Mr.Gautam Kumar has apprised the participants about the Micro Insurance and invoked the personnel representing insurers to mention about Micro insurance benefits maintaining product neutrality. He also handled a session highlighting various initiatives of IRDA towards protecting the interests of the policyholders and handling grievances.

The Seminar has successfully communicated the importance of insurance in a remote geographical area among the people at grass root level.
